​The landscape was built as a community garden and gathering place suitable for outdoor services, community gatherings and celebrations. The design was conceived by the spiritual inspiration of a church member who gathered others to support his dream of providing a holy space for people to walk with God. The new grounds continue as an ongoing project and celebrate the three dimensional world of God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three pinnacle stones of the Trinity cairn in the front of the church represent our triune God and the bowl at the base of the cairn is to receive stones placed by members of the church and visitors to mark their time at St Aidan’s. The second of the threes are the columnar basalt cairns in the winding prayer path where each set of stones represents different elements of a spiritual journey. The third set of threes are the three patios in the garden stage area: the fire pit, as a torch is the symbol for Saint Aidan, the Celtic cross seating area, and in front of the stage a Triskelion inlay, the design taken from the Book of Kells.

After completion of the garden/stage area in 2011,  several events (a dedication coffee hour, a Celtic concert, a summer Selah, a celebration of Evensong and Night of 100 Pumpkins) took place in that space. During 2012, landscaping around the new storage building was completed and outdoor events in the garden/stage area (a summer Selah and Art in the Garden fundraiser) were hosted.

Garden concerts and fundraiser are often held in the Celtic garden in addition to outdoor summer Selah services and St Aidan’s day services.  If you would like to the church garden for your next charity banquet, wedding reception or event, please contact the Church Administrator.
